How FADE works
FADE finds memecoin traders who are consistently wrong and trades against them. This page covers exactly what we measure, how bots decide, and what can go wrong.
Reading a wallet
When you open a wallet we pull its last 400 transactions from Helius and read the wallet's own balance changes in each one. One token going up while SOL goes down is a buy. One token going down while SOL comes in is a sell. Network fees and token account rent are taken out so a 0.05 SOL buy is not priced as 0.052. Transfers, airdrops and token to token swaps are ignored.
This works the same for pump.fun, PumpSwap, Raydium, Meteora and the trading bots that route through them, because we never rely on the transaction's label. After the first look, the keeper only fetches signatures newer than the last one it saw.
The Fade Score
Four habits, each a share between 0 and 1, weighted to a maximum of 100:
The total is multiplied by a confidence factor between 0.4 and 1, which reaches 1 at 15 tokens. A wallet needs at least three tokens to be on the board, and wallets that buy and sell in the same second hundreds of times are hidden as bots.
Tokens bought before the window we can see have no cost basis, so their sells are left out of PnL. They still count towards "sold before a pump".
You vs. them
The chart on each wallet page replays their trades in order. Them is their running realized PnL, with whatever they still hold marked at today's price at the end. You is a fade bot that buys every token they sell, at the price they sold at, and exits when they buy that token back, or holds to now if you pick that. Fees and slippage come off both sides of every fade. Turn the knobs: the whole thing recomputes in your browser from real fills.
What the simulation cannot know is the path a price took between trades, so take profit and stop loss are not part of it. The live bot has them.
How a bot trades
A pg_cron job calls our keeper every minute. For each active bot it pulls the target's new swaps, then walks through them oldest first:
- They sell token X. If buying their sells is on, we do not already hold X, we are under max positions and under the daily loss cap, and the bot has the SOL, it buys your size of X.
- They buy token X. If selling their buys is on and we hold X, it sells all of it.
- Every pass. Each open position is priced. Take profit, stop loss and max hold sell it.
Trades under the minimum size are skipped and logged as skipped, so the trade log always shows a reason. Paper bots fill at a live Jupiter quote for your size. Pausing a bot and resuming it does not replay what the target did in between.
Live mode and keys
Every bot has its own Solana keypair, generated on our server when you create it. The secret key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, and only two things ever open it: the keeper, to sign Jupiter swaps, and the withdraw route, which can only send SOL to the wallet that created the bot.
To go live, deposit SOL to the bot wallet and flip the switch. The bot keeps 0.01 SOL back for fees and token accounts. Withdraw sends everything else to you. Tokens stay in the bot wallet until they are sold, so use Close all first if you want to leave completely. The desk can pause all live trading at once if Jupiter or the network misbehaves.
We are a small desk. Keep live bots to amounts you would be fine losing.
FAQ
Taking the other side of their trades. On spot memecoins we cannot short, so the bot does the two things that are possible: when they sell a token, it buys that token at roughly their exit; when they buy a token the bot holds, it sells. Take profit, stop loss and a max hold time close everything else.
Still stuck? Start with a paper bot on the top of the board and watch the log for an hour.
